Denomination of Origin

The Denomination of Origin Ycoden Daute Isora takes its name from the two menceyatos (kingdoms of the Guanche era) Ycoden and Daute and from the domains of Princess Isora. It covers the northwest region of Tenerife, comprising the municipalities of San Juan de la Rambla, La Guancha, Icod de los Vinos, Garachico, Los Silos, Buenavista del Norte, El Tanque, Santiago del Teide and Guía de Isora, and representing an element of geographical link between the north and the south of the island.

The cultivation of Ycoden Daute Isora wines dates back to the 16th and 17th centuries, constituting almost the only economic engine of the region and Tenerife during that time.
